This term has been the best term eva. Its been sooooo fun. We are so sad to leave Matua David next year and want to stay with him for our last years at school but unfortunately we can't.Matua David is very Kwl and a sporty teacher he teachers Rm7 really well and thank him for teaching room 7 new things that we didn't know at the start of the year.

I've beern at this school since wk 6 or 7 term 3 and i have found this school 1 of the best schools i have been to. It has been so fun, i have made LOTS of friends its been a laugh, this class is the funnieist class ever i will miss all of my friends n all the people i am good friends. SHAVY!!!

I hope you have all had a relaxing break and took the opportunity to post on to the Blog what you all have been doing during your holidays.

For this term our big idea focus is 'Challenge' and I challenge everyone of you to take advantage of sharing your learning journey on our classroom Blog... go for it!

Term 3 value foci are Confidence, Determination, Excellence and Consideration. What do thses values mean to you? Hoiw might we show these values in the classroom, on the playground and in our kura? We will be exploring these further together and I look forward to you shariing your understandings.

Looking forward to catching up and promoting our strengths while developing our weakness together...

Highlights of Term 2 for Matua David

Kia ora Koutou,

There have been many this term and some of the stand out experiences have been the Marae trip to Tamapahore, sharing our BLOG, NumPa, persuasive writing and learning to focus on individual strengths and opportunities to improve our weaknesses.

Our classroom culture is supportive of valuing our differences and this is shown in our divergent discussions especially from our understandings of what 'Harmony' means to us...

Matariki, Harmony in the Environment and Harmony in the body has included valuable learning and sharing...well done Room 7.

A big thank-you also to Shavy, Lucy, Reagen, Te haeata, Liam and Quade for your hard work, and enthusiasm today, you really produced a great piece of work between you and should be proud of your efforts 'Ka pai!'

What's happening in room 7 this term.

In room 7 we have been learning about harmony in different ways e.g... harmony in the body and harmony within the environment. Before learning about harmony within the body we learnt about matariki the maori new year. It is nearly the end of this term.

Matua's Meez Man

Kia ora, 

What a term this has been!!!! The highlights for me were, NumPa - learning addition and subtraction facts and strategies, Characterisations and all those cool and not so cool traits and personalities that we looked at.

Let's not forget the 'Battle of the Loot' and all the times we managed to win this trophy... and all the times we let it slip from our grasp!

The trip to the Tauranga Art Gallery was a buzz and everyone in room 7 enjoyed taking that trip together and viewing all the treasures that were there.

a big thanks to all the parents playing an active part in their children's learning. Without your input our 'treasures' would find the learning journey a hard road to travel. Also thank you to those parents that have filled out and returned the feedback / feed forward response about their child's leaning and future hopes and aspirations - I really value this feedback.

My last comment is to wish you all a save and happy holiday and I really look forward to next term where our focus will be 'Harmony' with the term virtues focusing on Creativity, Enthusiasm, Compassion and unity / Kotahitanga.

In this class our big idea for Room 7 this term is treasures/taonga. People in this class have been bringing in there treasures and sharing them with everybody in the class.

We are going on a trip to the art gallery next week where people share their treasures too. We are going on the trip with Room 14 on a big bus.

6 classes have been doing 'battle of the loot' which every Friday morning we would either do running relays or one of the teachers would make up an activity for the classes to do.

Room 7 has the loot now so one of the classes can write up a criteria and deliver it to the class they want to try and get the loot from by winning the game they are challenging the other class in, no matter what ever it is.

I like being in Room 7 because we are all sporty and we co-operate with each other, and because Matua David is the best teacher ever!.

My goals are to learn most of my times tables and to make new friends!

Already it's week 3 and we have just hosted our first performance hui for Manaaki...Well Done Room 7 you are all 'stars'.

and lots of Sporting Games.

It has been great to see the way the roopu in Room 7 have pulled together and made excellent friendships...Keep up the fantastic work Room 7, Kia Maia, Kia Kaha...Matua David.
